Eagerly awaited the delivery of this griddle, and was not disappointed!!! It works well on the ceramic top range. Made great pancakes unlike my old griddle which was warped. I am looking forward to many years of use with this one!!! Would recommend this griddle to anyone. Quality, well worth the price.
We have been replacing our old Calphalon pans with their new series of Unison pans. We love them but I couldn’t find one in time for my husband’s Christmas present so I went with the All-Clad and we LOVE it. Light enough for me to hold with rheumatoid arthritis problems but heavy enough to do the job.
My only gripe about this is the handle. In hindsight, I should have stopped by a store and checked out the design of the handle before I bought it online. The recess in the topside of the handle that runs the length of the handle is a bit steep and has a tendency to dig into your hand/wrist as you hold it. I have other pans from the Pro-Clad (Emeril) line that are much better. In fact, if I could have found this same griddle in the Pro-Clad line, I would have returned this one in exchange for a Pro-Clad, simply because of the handle. Otherwise, I think this is a great product. The handle is a big enough issue for me that I’ve given this product a 3-star rating, rather than a 5-star.
I have had this pan for two years. I have probably used it more than 100 times, usually to make pancakes or french toast. It does a very good job, better than the Calphalon griddle that I had before. I downgrade it because it scratches too easily — and I have made an effort from day one to take very good care of it, using only nylon spatulas, promptly washing it gently by hand, and storing it so it won’t be scratched by other pans. Still, after all that care, it has become scratched. So my verdict is that the griddle does a good job but it requires a lot of TLC.
The construction is first class, but can’t really say that this griddle makes food tastes better than the Calphalon griddle. Nevertheless, it sure beats trying to grill toasts on a round pan.
